One thing that’s been really difficult, I think, is childcare and trying to find a job.
Roxanne is a single mom raising her seven-year-old son Elias in Chicago. After a sudden job loss, Roxanne struggled with her finances and housing situation, and as of January 2022, has been working two jobs to help support her son. Roxanne is determined to get back on her feet but limited access to safe and affordable child care options has made it difficult. Amid the uncertainty, Roxanne is proud of how her son has managed through changes and looks forward to when things will return to a new normal.
