How can we build solidarity with and community for LGBTQ+ families? 

June 2025

During the discussion, the panelists explored the challenges LGBTQ+ families face in accessing care, support, and recognition—and, just as importantly, highlighted the deep resilience, love, and community these families create every day. The panelists also explored what LGBTQ+ families in particular need to thrive, and what it means to show up for and with one another in this moment of uncertainty and possibility.

In this conversation, the panelists explored the ways our current tax structures impact families, particularly those who have been historically excluded, and highlighted promising changes and strategies to advance meaningful reform.


Building Collective Action for Caregiving: Bridging Narrative and Policy

In this conversation, participants discussed the challenges faced by caregivers with immigrant experience and their aspirations for change. Panelists explored the systemic barriers caregivers navigate, highlighted potential solutions and opportunities, and discussed ways to deepen our collective understanding of how to better support intergenerational families, particularly those with immigrant experience. 


Building Collective Action for Caregiving: Bridging Narrative and Policy

October 2024

In this conversation, participants discussed how to address the narrative and policy dimensions of our nation’s child care system. The event highlighted a new, evidence-based message-framing strategy called Collective Caregiving, developed by the FrameWorks Institute and Leading for Kids.

This fireside chat examined how we can reshape the tax system to support equitable family wellbeing. The conversation was the second part of a two-part series and highlighted ways in which we can reimagine the various policies, practices, and ideas that shape this country, and ensure every person and family can engage in a tax system that is operating in service to their health and well-being.

In order to set new and different conditions that support families’ wellbeing, we must identify and examine our existing systems to remove structural barriers that are impacting children and families in significant ways.
